There is no better seat for fireworks than the water. Well Played charters a whole yacht to your group for the night, with a captain, crew and fuel included, so you can watch the sky light up over Tampa Bay without fighting for a patch of grass, a parking space or a view over someone's shoulders.

The big nights

The Fourth of July and New Year's Eve are the two nights everyone wants to be on the water. Towns all around Tampa Bay put on shows, and from a boat you can often see more than one at a time across the water. We also plan evenings around other celebrations with fireworks through the year. Tell us the date and the office will tell you what is happening.

How a fireworks charter works

You choose the yacht and the guest list. The captain heads out before dark, finds a good place to anchor before the boats crowd in, and settles the group in for the show. Watch from the deck with a drink in hand, then cruise home once the traffic has eased. The captain decides where to anchor on the night, based on the shows, the wind, the tide and the other boats, and chooses the best view that conditions safely allow.

Start with the sunset

Many groups board in the early evening, watch the sun go down over the Gulf, and stay out for the fireworks after dark. It turns the night into a proper evening on the water. Our private sunset cruise page explains how we time the start through the seasons.

Food, drinks and music

Bring your own drinks and snacks, or ask the office to arrange food. For a bigger occasion, a private chef can cook aboard; chef and catering are quoted separately so you see the cost first. Bring your playlist, and the crew takes care of the ice, the lines and the anchor.

Book early

Holiday nights are always the first dates to go, and the best boats book months ahead. If the Fourth of July or New Year's Eve is in your plans, send us your date and group size as soon as you can. For parties and company nights out, see celebrations and events and our corporate yacht charter page.

Choosing your yacht

Each yacht's page shows how many guests she takes. Larger yachts give more deck space for watching the sky; smaller ones are easy and nimble when the bay is busy. Every price includes captain, crew and fuel.

Plan your fireworks night

Send us the date, your group size and whether you want to start with the sunset. The office replies with the yachts that are free, the price including captain, crew and fuel, and your meeting point.

Questions

Which nights do you run fireworks charters?

The busiest are the Fourth of July and New Year's Eve, when towns all around Tampa Bay put on shows. We also plan charters around other celebrations and events with fireworks. Tell us the date and we will tell you what is happening on the water.

Where will we watch from?

The captain chooses where to anchor on the night, based on the shows, the wind, the tide and the traffic, and picks the best safe view conditions allow.

How early should we book?

As early as you can. Holiday nights are the first dates to go, and some boats book months ahead.

Is it safe to be out at night with so many boats?

Your captain runs the boat at night with full navigation lights, keeps a safe distance from the barges and other boats, and brings you back once the crowd has thinned.

Can we bring food and drinks?

Yes. Bring what you like, or ask the office to arrange food or a private chef. Chef and catering are quoted separately.

Is the yacht shared?

No. The yacht is yours alone for the evening.
