There are moments in life when you realize you aren't simply finding your place. You're discovering your calling.

For me, that calling wasn't found in a boardroom. It wasn't found behind a desk. Although I spent many years in executive leadership, building businesses, developing teams, and helping others grow, those roles no longer reflected the vision I had for my life. They shaped me, challenged me, and gave me the tools to lead. But I knew there was another chapter waiting for me.

I wasn't looking to leave leadership behind. I was looking for a different way to lead. That journey led me to the water.

Standing at the helm, watching the horizon stretch endlessly before me, I realized the ocean had become more than a destination. It had become home.

What the ocean teaches

Out here, success is measured differently. The ocean doesn't care about your title. It doesn't care about your résumé, your accomplishments, or the size of your bank account. It teaches humility. It demands trust. It reminds you that every person on board matters.

It taught me that leadership isn't about standing above people. It's about standing beside them. Protecting them. Encouraging them. Believing in them. Serving them.

Becoming Momma Pam

Somewhere along that journey, something happened that I'll always treasure. The captains and crew stopped calling me Pamela. They started calling me Momma Pam.

It wasn't a title I gave myself. It wasn't part of a marketing plan. It wasn't something I ever expected. It was a name spoken over me by the very people who had trusted me to lead them.

Somewhere along the way, I stopped being just the owner. I became the person they called when life got hard. The one who celebrated their victories. The one who reminded them of their worth. The one who listened. The one who believed in them before they believed in themselves.

Of every accomplishment in my life, no title has ever meant more than hearing someone smile and say, “Hey, Momma Pam.” Because that name tells me we've built something far greater than a company. We've built a family.

Scootch over

Looking back, I realize that family has always been the thread running through my life. Growing up, whenever someone new came to our home, someone would simply slide over, pat the seat beside them, and say, “Scootch over.”

There was always room for one more. No one asked where you came from. No one asked what you had to offer. You were simply welcomed.

I never imagined those two simple words would become the foundation of everything I would one day build. Today, they guide every decision we make. They are the heartbeat of Well Played.

From one yacht to a family

When I purchased my first yacht, I wasn't chasing luxury. I was chasing connection. I wanted to create unforgettable experiences where families laughed a little harder, friends stayed a little longer, strangers became lifelong friends, and every guest stepped off the boat feeling like they had found something they didn't even know they were searching for.

One yacht became two. Two became a dream that refused to stay small. Guests returned again and again. Families celebrated birthdays, engagements, anniversaries, proposals, reunions, and sunsets together. Hundreds of five-star reviews followed. Not because we owned the biggest yachts, but because we believed every person who stepped aboard deserved to feel seen, valued, and cared for.

Then something remarkable happened. Boat owners began asking if they could become part of what we had built. Captains wanted to wear our colors. Crew members wanted to grow with us. Partners believed in our vision.

What started as a charter company became something much greater. It became Well Played Editions. Not simply a yacht fleet. A community. A standard. A promise.

Today, I have the privilege of serving as the Admiral of the Well Played Fleet. Not because I command every yacht, but because I have the honor of bringing together extraordinary owners, captains, crew members, partners, creators, and guests under one shared belief: luxury begins with how people are treated.

Every yacht that carries our flag carries our reputation. Every captain represents our values. Every crew member reflects our culture. Every charter is an opportunity to create memories that will outlive the voyage itself.

This has never been about building the largest fleet. It's about building the most trusted one. A fleet where owners feel supported. Captains feel respected. Crew members feel appreciated. Partners feel valued. Guests feel like family.
