How charters work on your yacht

Our charters are bareboat-style. The customer approves their own captain from our approved list, and Well Played acts as owner's representative. That keeps a trusted professional at the helm and keeps the arrangement understandable for everyone. Every guest books on the same public charter terms: a flat deposit of five hundred dollars, the balance a week before, a guest limit of 13 in total or fewer where your certificate says so, vessel rules with the captain's final authority, and a code of conduct for the marina. Damage beyond ordinary wear is the guest's responsibility, and the captain reports anything broken or spilled the same day.

What the bookings look like

Four-hour sunset cruises and six-hour sandbar days are the bread and butter; eight-hour days to Egmont Key or Anna Maria come with the longer-range boats. Holiday weekends, from Memorial Day to New Year's, and Gasparilla carry a premium on the published rate and are booked first. You see every booking on your yacht as it is confirmed, and you block the dates you want for yourself before anyone else sees them.

Looking after the boat

A boat that charters is a boat that gets looked at. Captains walk her before and after every day, fuel and water are topped up, and anything they notice goes to the office and to you the same day. Cleaning is done after every charter.
