A yacht rental for a photo shoot in Tampa Bay gives a production something no studio can: moving light, an open horizon and a setting that reads as the real thing. Well Played provides vessels, locations, crew and styling for brands, creators and productions, with a captain in command and the office handling the paperwork on our side.

Yacht rental for a photo shoot or video

The yacht is chartered for your production alone, so the set is yours for the day. We work with:

  • Brand and product shoots on deck, at the rail and at the helm
  • Music videos that need movement, color and a backdrop
  • Real estate and lifestyle work where a yacht is part of the story
  • Creators building a season of content in a single day
  • Editorial and fashion shoots that want water and light
  • Boat and marine brands that need their product on real water with real people

Tell us what you are making and we suggest the yacht, the location and the crew that fit. Every yacht in the fleet has its own page and photographs, so you can see what you would be working with before you commit. A sport boat with an open bow reads differently from a flybridge with a salon, and the right choice depends on the shot list.

Locations on the water

Tampa Bay gives a shoot several looks within an hour of the dock. The Sunshine Skyway for scale and skyline. The St. Petersburg waterfront and the pier for a city backdrop. The white sand and clear shallows at Shell Key and Egmont Key for a beach look without a beach crowd. The mangroves of Weedon Island and Fort De Soto for green. Open Gulf for nothing but horizon. The captain knows where the water is calm at each tide, which matters more for a camera than for a swimmer.

Light and timing

Light drives a shoot, and on the water it changes quickly. Golden hour, blue hour and the soft afternoon light behind a cloud all look different from a deck. We plan the timing with you around the light you want, and the captain holds the boat at the angle you need, which is a skill in itself with a current running. Weather is his call on the day, and if he cancels for weather you reschedule or take every payment back.

A shoot day, start to finish

Load-in at the dock at the time booked, with the crew helping gear aboard. A two-minute safety brief for everyone on set. The run out to the first location while hair, makeup and styling finish in the salon. Shots at anchor, then underway, then at the next location, with the captain moving the boat between setups. Lunch aboard if you want it, through a private chef. Back to the dock with the light, and gear off with the crew's help. The office sends the meeting point, parking and the captain's number before the day.

Crew and styling

A shoot day goes better with the right people. We can arrange crew for the yacht, and through Curated Connections we can bring in photographers, videographers, florals, décor, hair and makeup, and other partners. If your crew needs feeding, a private chef can be arranged too.

Releases and permits

Releases, location permissions and permits are the producer's responsibility. We provide the yacht, the captain and the crew. Talent and crew count toward the yacht's guest limit, and the same vessel rules apply as on any charter: shoes off where asked, nothing that stains, no one in the water without the captain's word.

How to book

Send us the concept, the date, the number of people on set and the equipment you plan to bring, and the office replies with a yacht and a quote. Send an enquiry to begin, and see yacht charters for how a booking works.

Questions

Who arranges releases and permits?

The producer does. We provide the yacht and crew, and we can point you to the right marina contact for dock access.

Does light matter?

Yes. We plan the timing with you around the light you want, and the captain positions the boat for it.

How many people can be on set?

The guest limit applies to a shoot as it does to a charter: 13 people in total including talent and crew, fewer on some yachts. Camera gear counts for space, not for people.

Can a drone fly from the boat?

Usually, with the captain's agreement and the operator's own permissions. Tell us in advance and we choose water where it is allowed.
