A birthday yacht party on Tampa Bay works for a fortieth with twelve friends and for a quiet sixtieth with the family. The yacht is private to your group, the captain and crew run the day, and the water does what a restaurant cannot: it changes through the afternoon, and everyone aboard is someone you chose.

Two ways to do the day

The daytime birthday meets late morning, heads out to a sandbar or an anchorage for a swim, and settles into a long lunch at anchor. Cake comes out whenever you say. The boat moves on in the afternoon and comes home with the light going gold.

The evening birthday meets late afternoon, cruises the bay or the beach side, and takes the sunset at anchor. Dinner can be served aboard by a private chef, or you bring your own. See our private dinner cruise page for how an evening afloat works.

Choosing the yacht

Each yacht's page shows how many guests she takes, so match the boat to the guest list before you ask. A flybridge gives a big group two levels to spread across; a sport yacht with a wide sun pad suits a smaller party that wants to swim. See the fleet, or tell the office your numbers and we suggest the boat. If the birthday is in Tampa, see yacht rental in Tampa for the boats that meet on that side of the bay.

Cake, chefs and catering

Bring the cake in a box with a flat base and the crew keeps it cool until the moment. A private chef or catering is arranged by the office and quoted separately; our private chefs page describes how that works. Guests may always bring their own drinks and food.

Decorations and photos

Banners, balloons and flowers are welcome on most boats, within the boat's house rules. Confetti and glitter are never allowed, on any boat. A photographer can ride along for the day; see content shoots.

Children and families

Children are welcome. Every boat carries life jackets in children's sizes; tell the office the ages when you enquire so the right ones are aboard. Children count toward the yacht's guest number.

Other celebrations

For a bachelorette, see our bachelorette yacht charter page. For proposals, anniversaries and company days, see celebrations and events.

Ask about your date

Tell us the date, the number of guests and whether it is a day or an evening. Send an enquiry and the office replies with a yacht and a price.
