About the 44' Regal

Two levels to gather. One easygoing way to spend a Tampa Bay day.

The Regal Commodore 4160 is one of the boats that helped define the Well Played experience. What makes her layout especially useful is the separation of the outdoor spaces. The lower aft cockpit keeps guests connected to the swim platform and water, while a few steps up, the raised helm deck creates a second social zone with its own table and seating area near the helm.

That upper deck matters underway. Guests can sit together, enjoy the view and stay part of the cruising experience without crowding the captain's working area. At anchor, the lower cockpit naturally becomes the transition point between the yacht, swim platform and water. The two levels let the group spread out while still feeling connected.

At 44'4" overall with a 14-foot beam, she offers substantial room for a cruiser of her size. Her approximately 2'11" published draft also gives the captain added flexibility around suitable shallow-water anchorages compared with many of the deeper-draft motor yachts in the fleet, always subject to depth, tide, weather and local rules.

From Maximo Marina, she is a natural fit for Shell Key, Sunshine Skyway cruising, swim stops and easygoing Tampa Bay afternoons. This is a yacht designed around actually spending the day together - whether you're gathered around the upper table or climbing back aboard after a swim.

Why we chose this yacht

Because the two-level deck gives guests two different ways to enjoy the same day.

The Regal 4160 does something particularly well: it separates the social experience without separating the group. The stepped-up helm deck becomes the place for conversation, drinks, snacks and enjoying the cruise together. Just below, the aft cockpit stays connected to the swim platform and everything happening in the water.

That combination is one of the reasons this owned vessel works so well for Well Played. Guests don't have to choose between a comfortable cruising yacht and a boat that feels easy around the water. They get both.

Her comparatively shallow draft adds another advantage for beach-oriented itineraries, but the deck layout is what gives her personality. There is a place to gather while you're moving and a place to live from once the anchor goes down.

A day aboard

Your day begins at Maximo Marina in south St. Petersburg. Drinks are put away, shoes come off and guests naturally divide between the two outdoor levels. A few settle into the lower cockpit while the rest climb the steps to the raised helm deck, gather around the table and take in the view beside the helm.

As you cruise toward the Sunshine Skyway, the elevated seating area becomes the center of the morning. Everyone can talk, snack, listen to music and watch Tampa Bay open ahead without missing the feeling of being underway.

At Shell Key or another captain-selected anchorage, the energy shifts downstairs. With a published draft just under three feet, the 4160 may offer more flexibility than deeper-draft yachts around suitable shallow-water areas when conditions allow. The lower cockpit and swim platform become headquarters for swimming, floating and getting back aboard.

Later, everyone gravitates upstairs again. Towels are drying below, drinks are refreshed around the table and the raised deck gives the group a front-row seat for the ride back to Maximo as St. Petersburg catches the evening light.

Life, Well Played.
